Brett and Nick, two of my closest friends, got engaged last May. They hired Brighten, the amazing photography duo, to take their engagement pictures. I got to tag along and help watch Memes, the couple’s schnoodle, while she wasn’t having her picture taken. The shoot started in a small wildlife preserve near Capital Beach in Lincoln, NE. Brett and Nick live near the preserve, and it was important for them to get some outdoor shots. You can’t tell from the photos, but it was freezing out! Memes wore a down-filled vest, and I carried her around to keep myself warm! Doesn’t Brett look absolutely stunning in that first pic!?! Nick loves to sketch and doodle. Whenever we get together for wedding meetings, he sketches decor ideas, venue layouts and various diagrams. The second part of the engagement shoot took place in Avery Hall at UNL. Ben and Whitney had Nick draw a timeline of his and Brett’s relationship on an old chalkboard. I love how it added a personal touch to their photos, and I was really impressed that Nick could remember all of their relationship milestones! Congratulations Brett and Nick! I cannot wait for your wedding day. It’s going to be an unforgettable event!
